On Saturday I traveled to Charlotte in the early afternoon to visit my sister at the Aveda school. She cut my hair and did an amazing job. Despite saying she doesn’t enjoy cutting hair as much as she does doing makeup, I feel like if she sticks with it for a little longer she’ll straight ball out at it. Purchased my new backpack at Concord Mills thereafter. I went with the Crestone 60 from North Face. The thing is very large and comfortable. It has a hard carbon fiber frame for back support which means carrying my laptop across the world shouldn’t lead to severe back problems =) Later, her, Julian, Stella, and I went to play basketball (’horse’) at a court nearby. We played until it was pitch black outside. It was a good time.
Sunday I headed to Concord to meet up with Jay, Hamby, Rem & co. Hanging out with all of them was a great time. Rem’s potato launcher was maybe the funniest and most impressive thing I’ve seen in a long time. It was huge. Quite loud, too. Got to play some pool with the crew as well. That’s a game I would like to become better at.
Six of us drove out to Jay’s lake house on Tillery Monday morning. Jay drove the new Corvette. When the gas is punched it feels like you’re riding on Aerosmith at MGM. Their new wakeboarding boat was also rediculous. It wasn’t too challenging to get up on the wakeboard. Easier than skis if you ask me. More fun than skiing too, because, like a kneeboard, it’s a shorter platform allowing more maneuverability. Jay, Noah, & Spicer were all jumping the entire wake without much problem. With a little more practice I can see how wakeboarding is catching on so well on lakes. It’s like snowboarding at 20 miles an hour on a surface which doesn’t usually hurt to bust on. Hopefully after Europe I’ll be able to try it out again =)
